I signed up to go to a weekend convention in a few weeks in chicago and booked the room for the girl and I back in March. Yesterday all of us who signed up got word that the coordinator was almost out of rooms. Today I got an email asking if I could switch to a room with 2 double beds.....I am 6’3”..... Upon telling the coordinator that I don’t fit on a double bed, I was informed that too bad, my options were a double bed or hope that a king bedroom opened up somewhere else in the hotel instead of the booked blocks for our travel group. I reminded him that I booked and planned this trip AND PAID MONEY back in March so either a) I want a partial refund for having to change or b) I want the original room I booked 3 months ago.
The funny thing is, had I been told a week or so later that the king rooms filled up, I would be more than happy to work with him and to see if I could book a king room away from the reserved block. Or even get one at a nearby hotel. But no, the problem apparently just popped up this week due to “a last minute surge in signups” so in my eyes, it’s a problem for the people who also waited for the last second to book. Anyways, rant over, so have a picture of a CB1100 because I want one badly.

You won’t fit on a CB1100.

Do you have a contract? It might be time to start looking at the terms of that contract. It’s total bullshit that you are getting bumped for later joiners, and for some reason your story makes me feel particularly vindictive.

That’s what I’m searching for. But sadly the info packet doesn’t have anything either way since the person who handled the hotel booking is not the person who organized the con. I’m sticking to my guns though and reminding him he should’ve eithe let me know ASAP or bumped someone who joined later.

I fit on a CB650 just fine. CB1100 isn’t really that much smaller. At least, not the one I sat on. Posture is slightly different but I could ride it pretty well.

Sounds like someone needs to get 20 pizzas sent to their house... From every pizza place that will deliver there.

CB1100 is based on the CB750/Nighthawk frame, with an 1100cc engine.
It probably isn’t THAT much smaller than a Kawasaki ZRX-series. Both are UJMs that have pretty much sit-upright ergos. Not splayed out like a cruiser/chopper/bagger, but not folded up like a supersport, either.
If a 6’3” guy can’t fit on the larger of the UJM standard street bikes, then the only thing left is a chopper or a bagger.
